About reiki!

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an extremely specific form of energy healing, in which hands are placed just off the body or lightly touching the body, as in “laying on of hands.” Reiki can also be done “long-distance,” as a form of prayer.

Dr Mikao Usui, a Japanese seeker of spiritual truths, brought the Reiki method of healing into human awareness in 1922 after a deep spiritual experience. He is said to have begun teaching others after a serious earthquake hit Japan and he felt urged to spread his knowledge.

How is Reiki performed?

Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct clearing, cleansing and renewing energy movement within your personal energy field to aid and expedite the healing process.

Sessions can be focused on past life regression/healing, mental and emotional trauma healing, letting go of mental and emotional baggage and habits, to aid in physical healing, or simply to maintain a healthy environment within yourself.

Benefits of Reiki

Reiki is a very simple process, but usually produces quite profound effects. These effects can be either mental, emotional, physical or a combination of both.

Stress, anxiety and depression happen when there is a buildup of unnecessary or negative energy within a person.  By focusing the pure, cleansing energy into a persons energetic body, the person is more able to effectively release the stress, anxiety and depression allowing those areas to be purified and renewed.

Due to the fact that Reiki helps reduce the stress within a person, the process of renewing that takes place during a Reiki session allows a person to be able to think through and better process situations and emotions that were once traumatizing.

The negative thoughts within us are fed by negative energy.  When the negative energy is released, the thoughts no longer have a source to feed on. When positive energy is allowed to fill in the voids left, the mind is able to focus on positive and peaceful thoughts.

The stresses we feel and go through in our daily lives lower our natural pain tolerance.  When Reiki is used it helps the body release stress and handle it better.  It also helps to increase our pain tolerance.

Surgery is a stressful situation already. It naturally is going to cause us to be more in our thought process on how we got to that point which slows the healing and causes more pain. Receiving Reiki during this time will help you to be able to relax so that your body can focus on the doing its job and speed up the healing process.

Regular Reiki treatments help us to better focus and navigate through our day because it boosts our ability to stay more in control of our emotions.  When we are more in control of our emotions, we are able to go with the flow without letting stressful situations monopolize our time and energy.
